Can anyone remember the name of the gentleman who imported a couple of American Cockers to England in the 1960s early 1970s? He lived just outside of Shrewsbury and he also bred cocker spaniels both working and/or show, I believe that he trialled the American dogs as well as showing them and was the first person in this country to do so. The dogs names would be a bonus.....many thanks.

Was it Bill Ironside? I know it was due to him working a couple of American Cockers that stopped them being transferred to the Toy group.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it

My memory is going and I cannot remember the guy's name but I think he lived and had his kennels at Harlescott near Shrewsbury. I have tried to google for more information with no luck.

I think it was Dick Wylde (Eldwythe). Ch Eldwythe Timothy's Black Tiffany and Ch Eldwythe Enchanto were the two American Cockers he made up into full Champions.
