Desperately seeking a chihuahua bitch.Have been looking for almost a year now.
No one seems to be local and due to the massive rise in this breeds popularity I am having great difficulty in finding a bitch.
(Damn you Paris Hilton!)

Smooth coat preferred but I love long coats as well.

If you know of anyone in the south, near London that would be perfect, but I am willing to travel a little.

The breed clubs are the best place to find reputable breeders the internet can only tell you so much or so little depending how you look at it.

I to have been on the lookout for a little chihuahua or cross smooth or long coated since our little one of 14 years passed I am in Kent and I am awaiting an address from a friend will post it as soon as  but the prices are over the moon even for pet but will try   Rita

The only way to get a well bred pup from a caring breeder is to go through the bred clubs.  Sadly this breed is being bred and crossed with other small breeds to feed the fashion for the breed.

Being a toy breed they have small litters and are not easy to breed,, which is why unscrupulous people will often cross them with more prolific breeds like Yorkies, Dachshunds, Jack Russells etc, and often pretend they are pure bred to get silly sums of money as purebreds of the other breed are nowhere near the price, and in fact crossbreeds should only be a nominal price..

I have just been offered a chihauhua x her mother is a chihuahua x jrt father is a westie with a bit of pomeranian was how it was described @ £400  also a chihuahua x yorkie with pedigree papers when I stated that you cant get a pedigree certificate for a crossbreed I was called a few choise words and the phone slamed down the dogs were£350 and girls £400 I blame they buyers in away as they are willing to pay silly prices that a few years ago there dogs would have been called mongerals  Rita

Shocking really and people wonder why some breeds are in the state they are in i had a browse before and the amount of dane puppies no papers bred for pet homes only for occasionally the same price as a well bred pup amazes me! There was one dane 10months for good home or out to stud as its proven At 10months!!!
