Can anyone recommend a breeder for Staffordshire Bull Terriers.  Ideally I am looking for a red bitch.  I'm in Buckinghamshire but will travel for the right dog.  Temperament is the most important thing but obviously looks do count for something

Contact the breed clubs for reputable breeders as sadly the breed is exploited and their reputation is being destroyed by bad breeders.

If you go here: http://www.thekennelclub.org.uk/item/87 you will find a list of breed clubs below the breed standard, several of these clubs have websites too.

also make sure pups parents are tested for L2 and HC as there are still those insisting it doesnt need to be done :rolleyes:

Thanks for the advice Lel.  I want to make sure that both parents have certificates.  Am hoping someone on the forum can point me in the direction of some good pups (ideally red).

I've contacted a number of the regional breed clubs.  A couple have come back to me saying they don't hold lists of breeders.  Considering the bad reputation that staffies have got because of bad breeding I'd have thought they'd have been more helpful!  I'm not looking for a show dog just a well bred family pet.

I would try the National club, or ask for breeders details so you can go on a waiting list.  Maybe they aren't keepign puppy lists as they don't want to encourage more breeding than necesary.

Try googling for Staffordshire bull tereirs and yoru bound to fidn soem breeder websites.

then put that breeders kennel name ino google and see if you get any hits for shwo results.  Any decent breeder should have results for their own dogs or thsoe they have bred.  Don't worry about the actual placing of course, as these will go up and down depending on many things.

The you can double check with the bred clubs any breeders that seem legit
