My much loved 'murphy' went to the bridge this morning...
He was unwell since sunday.. he'd been to the vets on Monday and they were going to investigate a swelling in his abdomen on Thursday
I woke up, gave him a kiss and stroked him ... I must of fell asleep as i woke to hear him give a small cry then he gasped... and that was it... Gone.... Not gone from my heart though..
I told him to go find Charlie..

Rest in peace my brave boy
I miss you already
You were always the watch dog.. who always warned visitors
You came into my life when you were 6 weeks
and now 13 and a half years later you have left a big big whole in my life

Its ok though Murph i'll be with you one day, untill then wait for me and visit me lots

Ahh so sorry to hear that.

Someone has just taken one of my dogs as they had a Spanish off me 13 years ago and his four legged companion died exactly the same way as yours last week and their Spanish hasn't ate or gone out since as he keeps looking for her.  So with a lot of heartache I've allowed one of my girls to go to them on a trial basis.  Been breaking my heart all week but I know she'll have a great life if all works out well.

That's so sad and so lovely too.

You were with him and loving him as he left. He must of heard your breathing next to him and felt the warmth of your body. He didn't have to have any horrible invasive surgery, or be sent onto the bridge before he wanted to go.

That's got to be of a great comfort to you and surely the best there is.

I am struggling to function let alone think of anything else.

Youa ll probably remember my posts about charlie and how i was devestated.. i have just about got over him.. and now Murph has gone so now im back to square one.
However, i wouldnt want it any other way... every second of heartache i will face is worth every second i had with him.
I cant get over how quick he went, i never imagined just how ill he really was. Just quieter and picking at food...

Murphy will be back home on Friday P.m
I cant wait
back where he belongs, with me singing and talking to him just as i always did.. nothing will change.

I have much comfort in knowing he passed with me by his side..
I feel guilty that there was nothing i could do.
If i had known sooner then i would of made sure he was ok one way or another
He must of been battling away with some horrible disease inside him. I didnt know, he was fine untill sunday and by wednesday he was gone....

If there is one thing ive learnt from champdoggers its
'Better a day too soon than a day too late'

He picked his time...

Oh Donna I'm so sorry.

I wondered why I felt the need to come to the site today, not been on for ages, suppose I must have known.

Your not having a very good time recently with your pets are you.  I've been heartbroken enough to lose one, I can't imaging how you must be feeling, loosing three in such a short space of time.

I'm sure it was a comfort to you to be with him at the end I know it was for me.  Keep your chin up and remember the good times.  You know where I am if you need a shoulder.

Murphy aka miff is now back home... It was my birthday yesterday and i spent the day crying..
I got through losing charlie... then pea... then gerrard now murphy... this feels worse by far....
