You may be wondering at the reaction of posters when asking about a deliberate crossbreed. :D Mainly these are a marketing ploy as for strange reasons often people are prepared to pay for a pup the price of two of it's parent breed, especially of the poor quality the parents are likely to be.
To be a breed the pups have to breed true, being just like each other and their parents with only minor differences.
Crossbreeds will vary considerable in size body type hair type etc some more like mum some like dad and some not as you would expect at all based on parent breeds.
Any cross is a complete gamble re temperament and other qualities. Of course the more similar the breeds in the across the less variation, but they will never be a breed until they breed true to type.
Firstly a desired type would have to be established from the assorted offspring, choosing the most similar to try and breed ones like them and then selecting the few that did and so on. Takes generations and in the meantime lots of surplus pups that don't meet the requirements.
For this reason alone I am against the crossing of breeds with the excuse of creating new breeds when there are plenty of breeds already to choose from, many in danger of dying out, some of which are just what these crosses are trying to be.
