Does anyone know why the ' messages' link doesnt notify of a pm anymore? It used to turn red and indicate how many pm's had been recieved.Is there any way i can turn it back on?
I saw the notification page,on the main page, which showed  pm's had been sent to me which was in amongst other peoples posts,which is how i realised i had them,but i rarely go on that  page.

Soooo,is there any way of getting the original RED notification back??I hope so as i deleted the notification page hoping this would fix it

I think the red notification is gone for good (please Admin, any chance that could be reinstated?) but if you go into options make sure that you still have email notifications selected too so that at least you're in with a fighting chance of knowing you have PMs (like you, I often don't pay much heed to the opening page so when I have marked posts as old/read discovered later that it meant my messages had been similarly marked   )

Also, if you delete the "notifications" section on the front page it's not gone for good - only for those replies and/or messages listed at the time.

Excellent thanks for that Teri I thought i had lost the whole page,but it's slowly creeping back.

Would it be cheeky of me as well to ask if the bold red 'Messages' notification could be reinstalled if at all possible? The lack of it is certainly noticed. Thanks!

The red is especially useful when you are trying to direct a new person to thier PM folder if we have to Pm them something that isnt allowed on the forum.
If in the post we say we have pm'd you, then they will be easily able to see where, instead of havng to explain where

oh yes! me too, I miss the red messages I don't actually see now if I have any unless I click on messages, as I've set my bookmarked page to active topics, so the new system of message notification isn't apparent to me ............please Admin, can we have the old system back? ........pretty please

I am afraid that the new version of the forum software only uses this type of notifications. You will soon get used to it
