I remember reading this poem on the net somewhere - I'd love to read the whole thing again, the above I think may have been the final line.
It is sadly appropriate to our current situation, as yesterday we had to have our beautiful 4 yr old dog put to sleep.

So, can anyone help?
Thanks, Cathy.

So sorry to hear that you have had to say goodbye to your dog at such a young age
I came into this world with nothing & with careful management I've managed to keep nearly all of it
Hi Cathy
Just wanted to express my sadness to you over losing your dog, i too lost my little westie on thursday who was just under 5 yrs old so i know how you are feeling at this dreadful time, it just seems to unfair to lose them at such a young age.

So sorry Cathy - Luke will be back running around free having a great time now x Lovely picture x
Can't help with the poem I'm afraid - I did a Google search but couldn't find one with those lines. Maybe someone else will recognise it..
What a beautiful boy - so sorry to read this post I understand how difficult and sad this time is for you,

I'm so sorry Cathy

The greatest pain we endure is losing those closest to us.
I found this on the lab rescue site, I think it may be what you were looking for and hope it in some small way brings comfort to you, God bless, Teri xxx
Dear Mum
When Jesus sent me down to earth
To show the folks just what I'm worth
He said go and find a Mum and Dad
Give them the best love they've ever had
Do everything that you can do
To make them very proud of you
But when I call you back to me
You must come back immediately
Well then he called to soon I Know
But I knew I had to go
He needed special help you see
He knew he could depend on me
My Job is to wait at heavens gate
And welcome folk inside
One day I know I'll see you there
With both arms open wide
I'll run so fast to get to you
we'll cuddle and kiss as we used to do
Be patient Mum and don't you sigh
It makes me sad to see you cry
I'm so sorry that I had to go
remember though I love you so
Time stands still in Heaven
So when you knock upon the door
I'll be just how you remember me

The reason a dog has so many friends is that he wags his tail instead of his tongue.
