Hi Labymad,

Don't wish to worry you but I would get her to the vet asap if she is bleeding from her vulva. Is the blood bright red and constant drips or was it just once? I would take her as soon as possible as this can be a sign of placenta detachment. Hopefully it is nothing too serious.
A Golden is born half trained, a springer dies half trained. Where are my running shoes ???

Hi, i think it was only once as i keep checking her vulva but dont see any more, but yes it was bright red.

Up-date, i think the bleeding was from somewhere else, i think she caught her nose on a can out of the bin!! I am worring so much about this litter, no idea why but i am really on edge this time.

floradora thanks so much for replying so quickly.

Hi Labbymad,

Good news then that it isn't from her vulva and in true labrador style caused by scavening for a morsel of food lol. I know what you mean as I always feel that I was far calmer with past litters but the reality is I am on edge all the time. I am sure you will feel better when they are safely born.
So pleased it was good news and good luck with the impending birth.

Phew, glad it wasn't anything serious. I've just been through my first litter and I know exactly what it's like, panicking about every tiny thing!!

Labradors, what can you expect from them but they would get themselves into that sort of bother even when due to have puppies!. Glad to read that everything looks okay.
The reason a dog has so many friends is that he wags his tail instead of his tongue.
