Why arent DDB's in Crufts? I dont know much about showing, but noticed Neo's and the mastiff, and bull mastiff but no french mastiffs? Thanks

DDB's plus my breed are not allowed to show there until 2009!

Yep they have only just come from the import/avnsc regsiter. They can now get CC at champ shows and qualify for crufts 09 i think. I shall make the trip next year and go, as a spectator though.
Would love to take part in the future, best thing ever ever ever.

They can ow be shown but there are no CCs for DDB, and it will be quite a few years before they can compete for them

tut thts not good whats point in them having their own group if they cant get cc's wont become champs either
whats point in them having their own group if they cant get cc's wont become champs either There are a lot of rare breeds (those that don't have CCs). They are shown because people love showing the breeds. Having a Champion isn't the be all and end all. I owned, bred and showed a rare breed for 15 years. They can still compete for Groups and BIS.

Alaskan Malamutes have been well established in the UK and have only recently been able to have CC's and make up champions. there are many breeds that do not have CC status yet in the UK.
Barbara and the Grey Curly Tails.

Spanish Water Dogs have been in this country for 16 years and have only just come off the import register. Hopefully there will be some nice ones at Crufts next year.

The DDB is only just off the import register, apart from anything else there are very few judges in the UK who could claim to have judged them for 5+ years, which is necessary to be able to award CCs. Very few people in DDB have any experience of judging at all, and I would suggest most of us outside the breed need to gain experience of them before being well informed enough to award CCs. The breed just needs to make progress before the next big step.

don't
think the neos did on sat either... and tibetans only came off the import register a few years ago didn't they?
