Excuse my ignorance donnax - but what is a degus?

A Degu is a rodent, a bit like a large gerbil.

Yep a degu is very much like a large gerbil... Apparently they are chillean squirrels...

they sound interesting - I shall have to try and see one in 'real life'

They are quite well known now... ive had mine about 7 years now.
I like to watch them... sometimes for hours.

We have a Jird which is in between the Degu and the gerbil size wise. He is a sweet wee thing too

We have 4 degus and they are fab - they chuckle and snore - our dogs watch them for hours too
