Just Curious, and also to help other people, what Health tests are required for your breed?

Lets get this started with the Miniature Pinscher

DNA Test for MPS VI  - Mucopolysaccharidoses (MPS)
Eyes
Hips
Legg-Calves Perthes
Patellas

Optional Testing:
Colour Gene Testing (Could this dog produce a blue, chocolate, black and rust, or reds)
vWD (some people say that any pinscher breed, should be tested for vWD since it is found in the Doberman, and the common dog between the Dobe and the Min Pin is the German Pinscher)

Only one thing gets tested for in Pharaohs in the UK and that's Patellas.  Even then that's only a recomendation from the Club and not a requirement.  I don't know anyone who's had their dogs done in the last few years before they've bred a litter - they think it's gone away - it hasn't :-(

Required for Standard Poodle by breed club;
      Sebaceous Adenitus
But these should also be done, really;
       Hips scored
       Eye test for Hereditary Cataract yearly
        Von Willebrands

and make sure the line is free of Addisons

:-) Eager to learn ( and help if I can) :-)

For dalmatians only BAER and ideally hip-scoring too, although hips aren't a great problem - the worst score so far has been 39.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it

BSDs are:

hips
eyes for juvenile cataracts.

Both breed clubs are actively involved in researching the mode of inheritance re epilepsy and hopefully a DNA test will be available at some point in the future.

These conditions aside (none prolific in the varieties thankfully) the BSD is a relatively healthy breed - let's hope it stays that way!

Boxer:

The main test that is asked for is the heart testing (AS), but the KC don't record this.  The boxer has a fantastic breed council that collects all this information.

The other test that the KC ask for is hip scoring, this is only a recommendation and not a requirement.

In UK the breed club requires Norwegian Elkhounds to be:

Hip Scored,
Eye tested,

Recently the club asks that people test for Kidney function, due to concerns over a few cases of Juvenile Renal Dysplasia found World wide.

The American club thinks Elkhounds should be tested for Hips Eyes Kidneys and Thyroid.

I think they find more under active Thyroid in the USA because so many of the pet dogs are neutered young and this hugely increases the risk of Hypothyroid (3 or four fold).
