I popped up to PAH for some rat food earlier... and came back with a rat! O.o

Poor wee fella's been in the adoption bit for a couple of weeks, apparently he escaped some time ago and was on the loose for ages with a younger dumbo buck.  They caught him a couple of weeks ago, and he's terrified - so much so that when they cleaned him out each day, he would literally throw himself at the roof of the cage trying to escape. 

Adoption was his last chance - it was try to find him a home, or have him PTS.  Poor lad.

So against my better judgement (where's that good ol' :rolleyes: now?), I took him on.  He's supposed to be 6 months but to look at him he's not much more than 4 months, if that, which is great - it gives him a good shot of making friends with my 10-strong group of bucks once he's settled in.

The little dumbo is still on the run and proving elusive, but I said I'd take him on if they manage to catch him (he'd go through the adoption bit too).  This little guy came home as Robbie - but I think I will be calling him Tristan!

*sigh* I'm a sap...

I am relatively new to rats my OH bought me two dumbos before Christmas and I just got two top ears - Graham, Bernard, Tom and Martin - 3 are huskies and one black hooded I love them and have started going to rat shows too LOL

Ha I like the name Tristan. What does he look like? I had a rat once but was really allergic to him - so much my skin went lumpy so I didn't get another after he died. He was called Bernard!

He's a lovely little agouti hooded, not seen much of his markings but looks like he's got a solid line down to about half inch before his tail.  Fab

You softie Love the name and I need some hoodies!! Soon as I saw the title I thought "it's a rat"
