hi, i have a 6 month old pitbull. we got her almost 2 weeks ago and had her on a different kind of dog food than her previous owners up until last saturday. we put her back on pedigree and still having issues. her tummy rumbles all thru the night (except last night) and runny poo. also today i noticed that she had a "salt mark" on her nose...she was de-hydrated. well we put more water in her bowl and she sucked it right up. yet hasnt urinated since this morning around 845ish. she ate her normal feeding today but is just really lathargic. any suggestions???
You could try the Vet.

went today, everything looked fine
Jade,
You should *always* keep water in your dogs bowl and available. If you only got your dog two weeks ago and the vet said she is in good health, she may just be settling in to her new environment. It can take some time before a dog is comfortable and their true personality comes forward.
If her poo is runny she may have been intolerant to the food you switched her on - or she may have had the same problem with Pedigree. I don't know where you are based, but if you have a Petco or some other big pet store near you might want to try one of the brands of food marketed as hypoallergenic (no wheat, soy, etc.)

I am assuming you are not UK based (because of the breed) so it will be hard to advise on which foods are likely to be available where you live.
If she was fine on what the breeder fed I would stick to that. Pups are often picky and or loose when they change home because of the change in water and of course the stress of changing homes can upset digestion.
Fresh water must always be available.

i think she's from america

I assumed so too, but availability of various food brands can be pretty variable depending on location.

yes i am in America...Florida to be exact. i just now realized that this is a UK based site. im sorry. as for Jade...this morning we found that she has worms. which would explain most of whats going on with her. we put her back on the same food that the breeder had her on and always has fresh water...so why does she go for the toilet??? lol this i will never understand! as soon as we discovered the worms we gave her deworm meds. she is shiting up a storm now. but hopefully this will fix our problems. also called the breeder cuz i read that it takes about 3 weeks for the eggs to hatch and to start seeing segments in the poo. well we've had her two weeks and im assuming that she got it when she was with them. we just thought she was a lazy house dog but i think she is gunna spunk up right nice once she's feeling better.
thank you for your support
Michelle and Jade
