Hi Jackie,
Thanks for the prompt. I have been rather busy for a while, new projects at work, spending time with the young lady I mentor , planning a new photographic competition at the local school, etc. etc.
Things are 'not bad', ( I refuse to tempt providence by putting it the other way !! :o) ), Apart from mornings Gem is now pretty good on the lead, (desperate to get to the field to 'go' and to stretch her legs).
She comes to the whistle every time except when I really need her to!
I was away for a morning last week, so my wife Liz took her out on her own. Gem ran around enjoying herself, always staying fairly close. Then Liz called her ready to go home and Gem just knew! 30 minutes later, Liz phoned my neighbour for help!
He bought one of the Labs and a dummy and between them they did get close enough to grab Gem!!
As you might guess, we are concentrating on recalls now ! ;O)
So who wanted an easy life anyway!!!
Bye for now
Alan
Easy life, whats that and would we want it anyway? Glad things are 'progresing'. My lot know exactly what a recall is, just don't see any reason why it should involve them. My puppy behaved very well at his show last Tuesday and I'm looking forward to the next one to see how he behaves there, hope it was not just a one off, still not holding my breath. All the best.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
I knew I shouldn't have said anything! Last night we went somewhere new for our walk, Gem dashed off into the corn as normal, but this time we didn't see her again for 15 minutes.
Just to make matters worse she came back with a limp! She was OK by the time we got home and again this morning, but what a worry!
I'm glad to hear that the pup is doing well again, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for the next one.
You are absolutely right, I'm sure we'd hate the easy life ! But sometimes it's just sooo tempting LOL
Till next time
Alan
See ya & pup at Leeds !!
Pam & Pharaohs
That message was meant for Jackie & her hound
Thanks Pam, is it the bar with the tables outside near the loos or the posh one? Have some how managed to enter my puppy in Junior, talk about brain fade, still it will make no difference if the pup behaves well I'll be pleased how ever he does, if he doesn't behave look out for the add for a Elkhound pup for rehoming. Only joking of course love him to bits.
