Hi
I know there are many breedeers out their, i am looking for either a Male pug puppy, upto one year old to accompany my 4yr old pug called Mitchell, i am wanting to pay around £700 for one with all the paperwork and vets health certificate, i just cannot afford £1000 plus. A couple of years ago i was on this fab site and made some lovely friends after seeking help over an operation my dog needed. Would love a Black pug but either would be great. I have been looking at a free ads site and afew others but im not aure why some are so cheap and so am worried about buying one. Puppy to one year old in excellent health, my contact is bee999123@hotmail.com.
Many thanks and kind regards to all.

Hi
The ads are cheap cos they are scams with no exceptions. You will have to pay more than 700 i'm afraid - thats how much the real breeders are charging!!

I have a breed similar to yours and all breeders want 1k or more. I searched for months and checked all the ads continuously to try and get one cheaper to no avail. You will find that the contacts or phone nos are the same or that they want money first...

The  charge sseems to be so much cos of AI and c-sections which seems quite usual in these brachycephalic breeds along with the fact they are a quite 'must have' breed.

Good luck

WOW, i can't believe a pug is that much money?!!

It amazes me how much money it is for pedigree dogs actually anyway.  Our family have a Leonberger who is lovely, but she was about £800, from someone who was a one off breeder.  that was 4yrs ago.  Still, we've always had pedigree dogs (well, my parents have), but there have always been problems with them, be it hip/bone problems or something.
My dog I got when I was working in america 11yrs ago and brought him back over here.  He was homeless otherwise.  He's half australian cattle dog and half border collie.  He's ace.  I'm a bit of a sucker for a mongrel!

Umm many mongrels have HD and other hereditary health problems!!  All of my pedigree dogs have lived until their late teens with no health problems.
My dogs aren't my whole life, but my life wouldn't be whole without them. 05/01/08 11 stone 12 lbs

Yep no health problems (beyond the pimple on the bum type things) with any of the 7 Pedigrees I have owned, and 5 of those are/were over 8 years old.  My youngest two are 15 months and 4 1/2 years and healthy.  All have been hip scored and been fine skeletally too, all teh Elkhounds ahve been eye tested without issue.
