Not sure where to post this but wanted to make everyone aware of the dangers of this toy.

The toy is called a Busy Buddy made by premier, it is a kong type toy, dumbell in shape of hard rubber with holes in either end of the dumbell to put treats etc into. A 7 month old pup was given this with treats in, and after five minuits he was scrabbling around on the floor, when trying to take the toy away the owner found his tongue trapped in the hole by the vacuum it had caused, his tougue wouldnt come out and was swelling up and causing him to choke, the owner couldnt cut it off as the rubber was too thick and of course the puppy and owner were panicking. He was rushed to the vet and was sedated and the vet cut him free.  He is now home safe but a very bruised tongue and also badly bitten where he was chewing his togue with his teeth trying to free himself.   The owner is contacting the manufacturer about this.

This is not a Kong toy, the kongs have holes both ends so no vacuum can be caused and kongs are safe.

Thank goodness this has a happy ending, it could have been so much worse if the pup had been left with this.

People have had a similar experiance with kongs aswell.

That is why no dog should be left alone with a majority of toys/chews.  Things can happen.

Many people have had this toy with no problems.

My guess is the toy was also too small for the dog, as the tounge would have had to get stuck in the first place.

An unfortantant accident, which luckily was caught quickly due to the dog being observed.

As has said unfortunately nothing in life is totally safe.
My dogs aren't my whole life, but my life wouldn't be whole without them. 05/01/08 11 stone 12 lbs

If this is the same alert which went out immediately after Crufts, this toy had a hole in both ends too. The problem was the food put into it blocked the top hole creating the vacuum.  So this could happen with a Kong too.

Goodness me thats awful. Glad pup was OK but could have had such fatal consequences.
Never actually crossed my mind that something like that could happen.
Thanks for the heads up
