RACH85
you said in your post  - "like Christine who mentioned earlier that it is ONLY ever used for dog fighting "

I have thoroughly re read all the posts by Christine and I have copied and pasted part of her statement -  "to me it smacks of dog fighting equipment."

Maybe I have a sight defect, or am not literate enough to be able to read, but no where can I find the statement that you claim she made, about them "only being made for fighting". "smacking of dog fighting equipment" does not mean the same thing AT ALL.

I really dont think it is of any help on any thread if people fib about the content of others posts, in order to try and support their own point. Please could all posters beware of  misquoting others. It's only fair.

Thanks pinklillies.

In advance, I accept your apology Rach85 when you make it public.

I'm pointing out my dogs are FIT NOT FAT!!!!  Without the need of a springpole!  Not replying to any more posts as this is just getting argumentative and that was not the intention!

I had a rope tied to my tree last year and my boston's would jump up and grab it, hang and shake for a bit, they just loved it. Kinda like they took turns having fun. I have even held the dog rope and they dangled from it- they just love these games and tugawar. But when I say play time is done its done and the toy is put away, mind you the dog rope is always on the floor cause they play tug with each other or they floss their teeth :-)

Rach85   , they are always into something, toys are destroyed and often expensive (top of range toys) and bones last seconds,

Have you tried Galo, Big Bones and black Kongs? I found these to work great with our Wolf/Rott (R.I.P) especially the Big Bone and my bro agrees that seems to work the best with his Pit she doesn't seem to go threw them as fast. Dozer our Boston can go threw a Black kong in a month to a couple of weeks he turns it into a Nub- I dunno he just loves them. My crew goes threw bones like crazy but i found these to last the longest out of all of them :-)

Fair? Is it fair that I come on here simply asking about spring poles and get all this rubbish about how I may be using it for dog fighting and that is all its used for? That isnt fair either is it?
To ask me ''why would you want to build the front up anyway?' is a suspicious comment and implying dog fighting or some other misdeed, I dont appreciate even the insinuation that I may use it for dog fighting and had no idea in the first place it was used as a tool for that purpose.

Next time I will not bother asking a simple query as most on here (apart from staffy owners it would seem) seems to instantly presume the worst and accuse or insinuate something rather then giving helpful advice to a fellow poster who has said in the past I do not condone any form of animal cruelty and that includes dog fighting, so why one earth was this even brought up when I was simply asking where I could get one from.

*edited* Thanks Dollface, will try giving those a go! :-)

Rach i bought trixi the smallest kong (its pink :-) ) but you can get blue and she loves it, i bought the puppy paste to go in it and she spends ages playing with it, it kept her occupied on her long journey home when we got her.

I have had the coloured ones before, was thinking maybe the black ones are extra strong or something? Not seen a black one in our local pet shops.
We are going this weekend to get some more puppy stuff (who hoo!) so will have a look, cheers dude :-)
By pepsi1 (***) [gb] Date 04.04.08 07:36 GMT
The black ones are good for when they are older as they are made stronger and iv only seen them in medium large and extra large, the pup wont be able to chew through a small one yet, trixi has a small pink one and a medium pink one and the other 3 have the large black ones, they are in pets at home for about £12 i think, i got mine off ebay slightly cheaper and it helps as i had to buy 3 :-)

Mitz always gets through the coloured ones, so will see they have a Black one this weekend for her, she will love it if it can sustain her mad chewing lol
Turbo will have a small blue one as it did Mitz really well when she was a puppy (she had a pink one tho :-) ), quite irratic on the bouncing as well arent they lol

Point me in the direction of where anyone has accused YOU that you might want it for dog fighting?  Again, re-reading something what wasn't there.

Mia is usually the first to get through hers it takes about 3-4 weeks though where as with the normal ones it will take her about a hour, i have a pic some where i will send you it :-)
By Rach85 (****) [gb] Date 04.04.08 07:59 GMT
Christine Im not gonna argue with you I cant be bothered.
The insuation was more the enough even if I wasnt accused and read it wrong, no one has that right to even insuate It may be used for dog fighting or unfit purposes if it is being purchased by me, theres just no need. it didnt have to even be brought up at all did it?

Anyway, just looked at those pics, the little buggers!!! lol
Thats the carnage Mitz leaves behind as well lol

It's always good to be aware that it's known that a small minority of people use them to build up their dogs' musculature for dubious purposes.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it
By pepsi1 (***) [gb] Date 04.04.08 08:05 GMT
There terrible with toys lol but the black kongs are definatly worth the money.
By Rach85 (****) [gb] Date 04.04.08 08:08 GMT
I agree with you JG no doubt about that, its just some people have a way of saying it in an offensive way or an insinuating way, maybe its because its on forum and comes across wrong or something, anyway we dont even know if we are getting one! lol

Think Im gonna deffo invest in a black kong tho :-)
By pepsi1 (***) [gb] Date 04.04.08 08:11 GMT
If some one was to look in my garden they wouldnt see the springpole but if friends ever ask what its for i just tell them its a toy, as to me that is what it is, i dont use it to bulk my dogs up, i like my dogs to have a bit of muscle but not over doing it and most of there muscle comes from walks/runs the springpole is just another toy to play with to stop them getting bored of doing the same thing all the time, and my dogs never hang off tree's or sticks or anything like that, i dont think they could HANG even if they wanted too as my springpole is low and there feet dont leave the floor.
At the end of the day each to there own some people will use them some wont but the only time i think it is wrong is if its used for the wrong reasons.
By Rach85 (****) [gb] Date 04.04.08 08:22 GMT
Wish everyone thought along them lines!!
Nicely put :-)

Now refresh my memory on some of the comments you have made previously?     How many dogs have you actually owned?
