Hi there.  Ive used this site many times and have always recieved great advice.  So here goes another!!  I have a six month Shar-Pei boy who seems to be tall however not bulky.  He doesnt seem to be filling out. He eats JWB adult kibble and pouches which he is rapidly going off and I also feed him chicken, stewing steak and mince.  Ive read on other posts that tripe and lamb are good for bulking up??  Any suggestions would be greatfully recieved.

not familiar with the breed but with my lot they go through a leggy growth spurt at that age, all leg and no body... you know like teenage boys when they hit about 15 and grow 5 inches but put on no weight? maybe find out if he's just going through that?

Let him finish growing before you consider bulking him out, it's no good for any dog to be overweight and it puts an extra strain on a growing puppies joints & bones, not to mention other organs. He needs his 'bulk' to be muscle, not fat, an overfed pup is not going to put on muscle (unless you re giving him muscle-building workouts, which IMO he is too young for), the muscle bulk comes with adulthood (testosterone & genetically driven). As long as he isn't underweight (as opposed to lean) then he's fine :-)

My pup is on tripe & bete complete, but not to bulk him up.
