I have read with interest several opinions on the above, rather disgusting  behaviour.  Years ago I had an Irish Wolfhound bitch who thought her smelly offerings were great. Fortunately she did outgrow this habit.  I now have a 9 year old male lab x crocker and have recently bought a 7month old bitch labradoodle.  If it were only her own poohs that were irresistable, but she also relishes the older dogs poohs too.  She will start to lick her lips when he is about "to go", even to the degree of getting her head at point of delivery!.  As a retired behaviourist, I have tried all the usual methods with very little effect.  Someone recommended that either amplex (is it still made?) or pineapple which seems to be the current method.  As I have the two dogs, I presume that they will both have to eat pineapple to nullify both poohs.  I have started doing this, but it is early days yet I suppose.  I have learned that the  fruit contains bromelain, which is supposed to be the magic ingredient.  There seem to be various health stores on the net where it can be purchased (thought this would be easier that buying the raw material).  I have two questions about this a) what doseage per kg would be required and b) there are several  ingredients listed that I wasn't sure about these are calcium phosphate, microcrystalline cellulose and magnesium stearate.  Does anyone know whether they be harmful or detrimental to the dog?  I look forward to reading any advice

I wouldnt have a clue myself and you are definately right to be cautious. I would personally ask the vet, s/he will be able to tell you if they would cause problems for your dog and may be able to give an approximate dosage.
They might even have a solution of their own they could suggest!

Shaws do a tablet form called 'DETER' its 1 tab per ?kg and is easier than giving the fruit (I found). it also works!!!

I gave mine half of a pineapple ring (I washed the juice off and then cut it into chunks) and it solved the problem.  Only needed to do it about half a dozen times.  

My friend also tried an inch of grated courgette into a meal and it too works.

It only works when a dog is eating it's own poo.  If the dog eats other dogs poo, it only works if they have it too.  If that makes sense.  i.e.  If your dog eats poo that he finds on walks, those dogs would need to be taking DETER.  Sold at PAH and most pet shops.

No idea about dosage but the 3 ingredients you listed are commonly used, inactive ingredients found in tablets/supplements designed specifically for pets, so they're safe.

reply to jean, yes take your point but I thought OP said dog was eating its own and that of her other dogs, we have three and when GSD started I gave tabs to all 3, only needed full dose for a few days then gave half dose, then only 2/3 tabs each occasionally when needed.

there's nothing more gross is there......but I believe if you can break the habit she will eventually stop. I had this problem with my 2 youngest, I got litter mates (yeah yeah I know) and they went through a period of eating their own, and 2 of my other dog's poo.....to the extent that I used to be running round the garden like a demented chicken whilst they were in opposite corners zoning in on any recent deposits, YUK!

I dread to think what the neighbours thought!

But after a period of going out with poo-bags every time and picking up, and distracting, it doesn't seem to be an issue at all now.
