We try to avoid them but my new pup sometimes walks through nettles and stings his paws. He then spends a lot of time at home biting and licking his paws and complaining.
Is there anything I can dip his paws in to sooth it for him?
I give a childs dose of piriton.
my last golden ran through a massive nettle patch and went crazy, rolling around desperately on the grass. Rang the vet and he said to give her pititon too. If you go on search on champdogs somebody posted the dosage for different weights of dog.

Hi,
Bless.... they do get immune to the stings..or learn to avoid them!

The Swedish variety is just the best!
Try rubbing his paws with Dockleaves...old country remedy!
Bicarbonate of soda made into a paste and applied to the sting.....works for humans too!!

lol, I remember that one

It works best if you break the veins in the dock leaf.

I remember that one too; as a kid I was always getting stung by nettles. Dock leaves grow quite close to nettles. We would scrunch them up so the moisture would come out and rub them on the sting.
