I never feed my dogs canned as too much moisture anyway but as your asking about whats in them - I heard that peas and potatoes are bad for dogs? Now suddenly it seems to be being used as much as rice as its another carb I suppose.
The second list you gave us naming 85% beef+15% heart for instance seems very high in protein ? My dog suffered from  coat discolouration [looked liked tea stains] through too much protein in his diet ? Was that second list tinned as well? . Crikey if I gave that to my dogs they would be going thru the eye of needle... if you catch my meaning ? !!

I've looked at the first lot before. The choices of oils put me off - what are grape seed oil and black onion oil? Unrelated to grapes and onions I hope! Wheat germ oil is a funny choice as well. Never heard of St. Johns Wort being used for dogs! Very strange :-D
