Hi guys

Last night i went to match at our training class.  Noticed I didn't have any bait for the dogs so called in the local spa and bought some black pudding.

My dogs went crazy for this black pudding, couldn't keep 4 paws on the ground.....

Just wondering what does it for your dogs

Boiled Eggs for my lot!!!
They see me put the eggs in the saucepan for boiling and they will lay by the stove until they are cooked and then watch me cool the eggs down ready for them! 
They are also crazy when I cook vegatables!!!

Yep if I have not got liver baked I get black pudding in Lidl and zap it in microwave after slicing it.

Mine like most things, but also love Bannanas, melon skin, apple cores (are you seeigna theme here that they get my leftovers).

mine pinched a melon the other day.  I was worried it would be bad for them.  The only problem they had was the poops!

Chicken wings - whenever I open the freezer George goes bonkers!!!

He takes a while to try new food but when he decides he likes it then he can't wait when he knows its on the menu!

Our Cavalier Gypsy loves cooked chicken, she also is crazy about these little bone treats we get called Meaty Middles...she loves them! Our Malamute has a thing for cat food and will always try and steal some from the cats.

One of the Samoyeds I look after really loves ham, and the mum of the puppy we are getting loves garlic sausage....

My WSD loves anything and everything.  My sprollie adores bananas and will salavate whilst watching you peel one.

My dogs favourite thing is the chicken breast bone cartilage thingy.Close second is Baked Liver,roast chicken,KFC,salami sticks,cocktail franks and black pudding.
They wont eat any fruit or veg at all

They go nuts for Chicken, and tripe they absolutely love it

Springbok pate!  Friend came back from South Africa and brought this back as a joke present for the woofers..............they went BONKERS for it!  Probably full of all sorts of nasties, but as a one off, what the hell.  The boy walked for miles on his back legs trying to get this out of my friend's hands (he's 6 foot 2 and was holding it above his head!) !!

LOL, I had to think about that one for a while, I take it you left the 'r' off. 

You would have to feed an awful lot of pips for them to have any effect.

Anything that is food, I have one that loves anything and everything; he's 13 now and just as food crazy as he ever was.  He's the only dog I've had that does a sit, a stand, a down, then a sit, then another down, a sit, a down, .... when there is a treat coming in his direction and he's not even asked to do anything.     My other one can be fussy but absolutely loves cooked liver in garlic.

Chicken! They smell a roast and when its cooked they come to life :D.....they know they will get the icky bits (skin, juicy bits off the bottom)

Pips and kernels of various fruits can contain cyanide! Whilst the fruit itself is perfectly good for dogs, care should be taken that they do not consume the pips and seeds. Pear pips, the kernels of plums, peaches and apricots, apple core pips all contain cyanogenic glycosides, which cause cyanide poisoning.

Onions and Garlic can cause oxidative damage to the red blood cell membrane, resulting in hemolysis, or the rupturing of red blood cells and causing difficulty in breathing, diarrhoea, liver damage, vomiting and discoloured urine. Although garlic has the stronger taste and smell, onions are much more toxic but both are very dangerous.

I wouldn't believe everything you read on the web debussy.  Pips in apples have never done my dog any harm and she gets garlic and fennugreek tablets (animal formulation) every day and again they haven't done any damage.  If she gets mince with onions in it she can get a bit of a runny bum but she doesn't get this very often.  The pips from apples are also poisonous  to humans but I don't ever reading about any humans who have dropped dead from eating the core.  Alcohol is extremely poisonous to humans but it doesn't stop us devouring it regularly lol

I have heard that peas,potatoes and pork is not good for dogs but I see a lot of dog foods now containing these things ? Any thoughts on this?

Sausages, hotdogs and one little fiend adores chicken curry and chilli con carne (without the onions of course). Can't beat raw tripe either!

It IS true that apples pips contain cyanide, I would be interested to know the sourse of info for a person dying from eating them though? Humans, and dogs, digestive systems cannot break down the outer shell of apple pips, which is why they are safe to eat.

I am guessing that due to this, a large amount blended then given to dogs might cause a problem.

I remember reading about it on one of the news sites. This Lady adored apples and apple seeds,every time she had an apple she would save the seeds.In this instance she had saved a cup full and ate the lot all at once and then died.

Just to reiterate,as someone on another thread(cant remember who) mentioned onions in something i Listed above.
I don't see the problem with giving our dogs special little junky treats every now and then,they don't get them everyday or for every meal.Mine even get bolognese sauce which has onions/spices in it,and i know those little cocktail franks have nitrogens,or whatever they're called laced through them.
IMHO as long as their main meals are healthy then a little bit of something naughty isn't going to kill them.

That was me.  The reason I mentioned it is because I have been told and believe that onions can be lethal for dogs.  I too have given my dog bits of leftover bolognese in the past but not anymore because I think the onions in it that has given her diarrhoea. Onions are not naughty but dangerous for some dogs. As one who jumps up and down about dog food that doesn't come to your exacting standards and how damaging to health some foods are I was surprised that you fed onions to your dogs.

Just over a year ago my dog was seriously ill. She was kept in by the vet vomiting and diarrhoea and everything she past was red with blood.  I did post on here about it.  She was so ill that the vet didn't think she'd pull through and they could not say what caused it.  I always said it was something that I had seen her pick up and eat in the park but had disappeared by the time I caught her. What she ate I cannot be sure but it looked like a burger or kebab and there was a lot of it.  Crikey .....  I bet whatever it was it had onions!!!

I have a Cavalier who feels that there is nothing he likes to eat, nothing that gets him excited, not roasts lamb- tripe-chicken- pilchards ...nothing.
There is no spark of interest in any food on the planet.
No he's not being manipulative and yes you can get him to eat a mouthfull if he has nothing for a day or so but next day is the same... no interest in food......just eating enough to stay alive...... It's driving me mad!!!
His mother is an eating machine and all my others eat normally. The HUGE favourite in this house is when OH is eating nuts.... there are many desperate faces staring up at him and a couple not averse to sitting on his chest almost plucking the nut from his mouth.

CherylS.........thanks for posting that! I make my own bol, stews etc (no packet mixes I mean) and very often there will be some leftovers I chuck in the dogs bowl. Had no idea onions (of which I use a lot) could have any dire effects. Wont be doing it again...just in case.

Coincidentally we had bolognese last night and there was some left (as usual) and our dog whined for the leftovers (as usual) but it went straight in the bin and she got a raw carrot :D
