Just got an email, and bully breeds could possibly win the fight against Breed Specific Legislation!

It stated, that Sept 15 and 16, the Supreme Court has agreed to hear how Bill 132 (aka Pit Bull Ban) is unconstitutional, and we could have it overturned!  Meaning, Pit Bulls, Am Staffs, and Staffs (as well as any dog that looks like these breeds) could be allowed back in Ontario.

Dog laws, are ok, but to actually name out breeds that we cant have!  Thats going way to far.

Could it be, that the light at the end of the tunnel, was never an oncoming train in the first place?

I am so excited, even though I dont own a bully breed, the law is completely unfair, and have been trying to do my part in stepping up to help the breeds affected.

This rocks!!!!

Had to tell someone!

Dont get too excited tracey....crespin is in canada, and she is talking about ontario legislation, not british legislation. (unless you are moving to canada of course).

But if one country rules that it is unconstitutional, that means other countries could follow.  This hearing could not only help Ontario dogs, but then it would be in the books, to help other countries challenge this stupid law.

It is a huge step in fighting BSL, and even though it does deal with the Ontario Legislation, it could open the floodgates for other rulings.

Sorry pinklillies, just seen your reply :-)
Yes, I know Crespin is in Canada, but as has been mentioned, ANY change to BSL laws in ANY country has to be a good thing! :-)
p.s. I'm moving to Australia :-)

Also there are limits on tyhe number of dogs you can keep in most areas.

For example breeders who have one of mine can only keep four dogs over 16 weeks of age.  Makes breeding very difficult as the breed is generally long lived.

For this reason they have ended up not keeping a puppy from my girl who is now 9, (their oldest girl lived a very long time, well into her teens), and when she had her last litter there was just one dog pup, and after that they couldn't get her in whelp again.
