Hi,
Think but don't quote me -
Only at an open show, best in show (BIS), reserve best in show (RBIS) and best puppy (BPIS) in show qualify for Crufts.
Hope someone comes along and confirms this.
Blonde and Dyslexic!!!!!!!

I think that's only at Premier Open shows, not ordinary ones, but could be wrong.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it

The qualifications for Crufts 2008 at Open shows were -
(3) Premier Open Show
For dogs that have been declared Best of Breed provided there were more than three breed classes (more than five classes for Stud Book Band E breeds) scheduled for the breed.
(4) If it has won Best in Show, Reserve Best in Show or Best Puppy in Show at a General or Group Open Show held between 8 January 2007 and 7 January 2008.
I would imagine Crfts 2009 will have those same qualifications (maybe the dates will change though)

Twin Group? I don't know what you mean by the term twin group.
There are Group Open Shows and Sub-Group Open Shows. They may or may not be judged on the group system, but twin group, I'm puzzled.

would twin group be like the Terrier and Gundog open show ? (I think there is usually one up in the midlands)
1.5lb this week total 5.5lb - slowly but surely im getting there !!

Twin group shows, although I've not heard the expression, is very common in Working & Pastoral breeds -I'd imagine as they all used to be one group but now are two.
You can also have sub group shows, well in Belgian Shepherds you can anyway (imagine it might be true of say Poodles as well but really have no idea) -as there are 4 varieties of the breed some shows are referred to as sub group shows rather than breed shows.

Working and Pastoral breeds still have their shows together as the societies existed prior to the group being split.

We don't have any twin group shows round near me, but it makes perfect sense now. Thanks all.
