By freespirit10 (***) [gb] Date 19.04.08 18:41 GMT
Can anyone please help me with the email address for contacting ebay . Have been through all the help topics and filled in the report form, but it will not send it, due to the fact bidding for the item has finished.

What do you actually need to do? Do you need to report  a suspicion that this occurred?
Here is a page link. If you just go down it filling in the boxes along the lines of a query about bidding, you will get to a "contact us" on the third page.

No already done that and it wont allow me to do it due to the fact that the listing has finished. This is two different sellers bidding up one anothers items.

does this help :

http://ebay-uk.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/ebay_uk.cfg/php/enduser/ask.php?

It's a contact ebay page, a bit more 'general' than the specific 'report a problem' page.

No we have used that one it says it won't send anything through as the forwarding address and page do not exist.
It is silly that u can only complain about shill bidding before the item closes. The other person will get offered a second chance offer at nearly £10 over what they would have had to pay. Hardly fair.

this is the only other thing I can think of, apart from using the ebay telephone helpline 020 8080 2106. I can't guarantee that this puts you through to a real person though!
Another thought......If you are offered a second chance offer, does that make the item "live" again, so that you can report it at that point? You could also email the seller, pointing out the evidence you have, so they at least they know you are watching. Alternately you could deliberately watch more items from the seller and if you see evidence of shill bidding, report them for that item before it ends.

I reported a Nigerian scam bidder to them, a week later he was still bidding on items.  They removed him eventually but still charged me for the listing.

Here is the ebay definition of shill bidding.

i have reported items on ebay  because of shill buidding in the past & they were not interested,

Slightly steering off topic, but I had a real problem last year with ebay, I bought an item from a seller for over £300 paid for it, was even sent the postal reference by the seller and then a few days later received a refund?  When I wrote to this seller asking why my goods were not sent and a refund given, with no contact to explain anything.  I got a a sentence telling me to F... O.... that was it, I hadn't been rude or anything, I was completely puzzled.

I reported the break of seller, buyer contract to ebay (which they say they take seriously) and the disgusting language (which they say they take seriously) and got many e-mails saying they were looking into this blah, blah, blah.

They did nothing!

This seller did the same thing to 5 other people straight after.  It was more than obvious that people were winning bids, paying for the items and then he was offered more so refunding seller, 3 others received obscene e-mails when asking what was happening too.

This person is still trading, they did nothing, even though we all complained.

Managed to send an email through to them and they have said they will look into it and basically the seller and her friend will get a warning or be suspended for a short time. Meaning they will change their log in names by starting new accounts and do it again. I expect lots of people are doing it and now alot of people are doing private bidders apparently to protact bidders id then I expect it will go on more and more.

Must admit this is one of the reasons I wait until the end before I place a bid, so that I can't be run up by false bidders. Need a fast Pc though, why do they go into 'go slow or freeze' mode just when you are trying to place a bid...;-)
