Louis has now started playing with snails....pushing them around, batting them, tossing them in the air, bringing them in for me to 'do swapsies' etc.
He has cracked their shells but hasn't actually eaten any yet I hope - there has been no shell evidence in his poo !!!

Unfortunately we live in a lungworm hotspot and a couple of our local parks are  no-go zones

A couple of dogs at our vets have nearly died from this so we have to be extra careful

Anyway, we have been given Milbemax as our wormer, is this the right one ?  previously had panacur

As far as I know for the Lungworm it is monthly doses of Panacur, but not sure if it is a different dosage than just for the other worms. 

A puppy I bred had this problem.  Thankfully the owners contacted me about their bitch being exercise intolerant after spaying, which rang alarm bells, and I told her to take to Vets.  She was a snail eater.

Milbemax is a wormer for cats and dogs, available only from your vet. It provides protection against the following parasites

Been doing some searching and found although its called lungworm its actually french heartworm angiostrongylus vasorum. Milbermax has been recommended on other forums too as the only wormer that has been licensed for this, but panacur is hoping to be licensed too !

Been reading scary stories of symptoms and outcomes, very worryingly some symptoms I could mistake as his normal breathing anyway so will definately have to be vigilant. Dogs can not only get it from slugs and snails, but from foxes poo and frogs as well and even from the slime trails left by the slugs and snails!!! All of which is or has been in the garden at some point
