I started feeding my two Chihuahuas JWB Senior. But they have gone right off of all the flavours! Benny will usually eat and eat and eat but he is now just turning his nose up at it. Even moistened or with salmon oil on! They just leave it when I put it down. They were on the same flavour Bakers all their lives and ate it with no problems. I want them to have a good quality food though.

They used to get upset tummies a lot but don't on JWB. Can anyone recommend a food that is appetising and good for dogs with sensetive tums. My two are 10 and 12 so maybe a senior one. Preferably one that can be moistened as one of them has hardly any teeth. I did buy Royal Canin and they loved that but Benny is overweight and puts on weight very easily and I've read that dogs put on weight with it so I need something tasty but not too calorific.

i use wainwright from PAH its very similar to jwb, im sure they do a senior variety, also i mix this with wainwrights wet

Not sure if you want to stick with dry food but you might want to try Naturediet (a wet food) - they do lots of different flavours, including a lite version and a senior version. Most dogs love it

One of my girls is very fussy - Kronch (salmon) dog food did the trick, quite good price and quality.

Thats a hard one,as unfortunately most lite or senior foods are low on the fat and protein levels These are usually the things that make foods tastier.
I would also recommend naturediet,don't bother with the lite/senior varieties of foods,just keep an eye on the amounts you are feeding.
Royal canin is great for fussy eaters,and it is only fattening if you feed too much.You could try giving half RC and Half ND.

I'm with you on that Ktee.  I've never used light or senior dog food, just cut down the amount of the adult food.

Ditto here, when I have given my girls lower protein and lower fat foods I notice a deterioration in their coats. so mine continue of a good adult complete, reduced or increased as their weight dictates..

The ND senior is the same as the other varieties regarding protein/fat - the only difference seems to be that it contains herbs/plants to help with mobility.

The lite one on the other hand is quite a lot lower fat, with higher fibre. Still contains chicken, lamb, and lamb tripe listed as the top ingredients so probably still quite tasty.

Why not try JWB moist? At least then you'd be keeping them on the same brand so shouln't upset their tummies too much.

I think I will change them to and adult food instead of senior. I was always under the impression senior had stuff in for older dogs so was better for them. I'll change to adult JWB and see if they find it more tasty.

have to agree - natures harvest is brilliant with the added joint supplements as well which would assist an oldie.
