Chewed Toys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Came home today at 5pm with yet another toy for madame, by 7 pm it was in the bin! 
We have a 7 stone giant breed, which distroys all toys. 
This is unfair for the little ones, they have nothing to play with. 

Can anyone advice on toys which are strong enough and indistructable.

My pup is getting close to 9 stone, so I know how you feel. iIve found the big rope toys with a knot in each end are quite good as long as the dog doesn't shake them (that hurts if you get a knot full pelt in your knee cap) but must be used under supervision, well, my pup needs supervising because he'll chew threw the knots and pull out loads of strands of cotton which I then have to pick out of his floppy lips before he eats it

I always have a supply of old stuffed toys and footballs that my sons have discarded. Any bought toy (such as squeeky stuffed toy) is never left with the pup or he'll ruin it, he gets to play a little game with me then it goes away for another time.
My pups favorite toy is a cardboard box (eg. cereal box), I'll put a few biscuits in it (part of his normal food ration), screw the box up as tight as I can and he loves to 'find' the biscuits inside. It does make a mess but the pieces of carboard are shredded so they can go straight into the compost

I don't think you're gonna find any toy that is indestructable for a giant dog (or any heavy chewer)

The ONLY 'toys' that Mikki hasn't destroyed yet are the Kongs! She's got the ball-shaped ones and the cone-shape with bobbly bits Also a hard rubber ring toy. Any footballs, soft toys, stuffed toys, frisbees etc get torn to shreds. Very thick rag ropes can last a few weeks - actually brought the big green/white ones from Crufts and they lasted months (last year) I think it was leaving them out in the rain that ruined those.
And I have to keep Maddies suckle-teddy in the front room so madam Mikki doesn't get it

Ours loved empty boxes too and empty juice bottles - (but watch for sharp edges if they manage to break them). One of ours has a large treat ball too that she hasn't managed to break yet. I have a large GSD who will destroy most things but I brought a Kong Wubba a couple of weks ago and it's still intact, we also have an Orka Jack which has lasted 2 years!! it only has a few teeth marks on it.

we tried the big rope toys with knots, the pups managed to destroy all but the knots, which they then loved to throw around - and I mean throw! The funniest thing was when Beatrice threw it right up - it hit the ceiling and came rushing right down and clocked her on the head!! The look on her face was priceless We threw them in the bin after that...

ours don't have toys as such (bad mummy) they get the filled bones which we take the filling out of after a week and they happily play with the bone, oh and the big nyla-bones.....one is really chewed and the packaging states to replace when the knuckles are worn down, but ours seem to like the well-chewed one more, and will play "musical-toys" when they seem to swap places and chew each others toys at regular intervals - funny things hounds

I have never bought anything remotely fluffy, squeaky or cuddly

Plastic bottles FOC - under 30 mins!
The largest rope toy with 3 knots £7 - 2 days, if lucky?
The one I bought from well know super store yesterday was large 8 shaped rope - under 2 hours!

Don't minding how much they cost, just want a little longer life expectancy.

Will try a Kong.

The kong wubba has probably lasted the longest of all the toys I've tried (6 months) and the Orka toys also last quite a while.  Another favourite are the toys made from recycled car tyres.

for cheapness, effectiveness and ease of replacing an empty milk carton seems popular with our lot

My 14 year old Spanish gets through a Kong still!!  She's always had a strong jaw.

My GSD always like a boomer ball to push around they are made of solid plastic with a removable stopper so you can fill them with sand or water to make them heavier .
Ours is a football sized one and I,m waiting for an England talent scout to come and sign Sengi up for the team.

Maddie had one of those balls that was really thick criss-crossed rubber surrounding a plastic ball with a bell in it. Really heavy, hurt when she dropped it on your feet! Then, when Molly came along she played with it. Then Mikki the destroyer got hold of it. She broke the plastic ball with her teeth, ate the bell!! and now all thats survived is the hard rubber. Still, its survived and thats the main thing, she can still play with it. And drop it on ya feet!! She's chewed a few kongs but those thick ball-shaped ones have lasted the longest

I just toss the lates plastic milk can down until it is chewed, or drinks bottles.  Any plastic seems popular esepcially if there are traces of food :D  Just bin them once trashed.  Other than that it's cow hooves ro marrow bones (when I can get four at a time).

i have the same problem with my 14month old gsd, arin has jaws of steal and will destroy everything.
i brought her a kong wubba for her 1st birthday as everybody was raving about them unfortunatly it lasted 3 days i have also tried the boomer ball which she managed to break but dont ask me how, now me stick to kong toys as they seem to last very well

Have this afternoon been out and bought Extreme Kong XXL for 35kg +.
Has survived first hour will see how long this one lasts.

Zuma is 9 mths and has destroyed a couple of the 'pedigree' thick rubber toys, he shredds and eats the ragger toys as well so those are out. he has a couple of kongs, nylabones, the mini car tyres, a jolly ball (with the handle cut off after he started to eat it) BUT his favourites at the moment are a couple of VERY soft latex squeeky balls - 2 months and still ok (touching wood) as they seem TOO soft to actually chew. the rubber squeeks are not soft enough and just got bits ripped out. added advantage is they can be thrown around indoors with no risk - not something I would do with a kong!!!.

A tug-a-jug large size is pretty indestructible. Also we have an "indestructaball" which is still intact.
