Hi all, just received an email supposedly from Nationwide Building Soc. Saying they are updating their security and have noticed an error with my sign in.
I clicked the link and it took me to a very credible nationwide page asking for
all my sign in details...username, password, email etc
I DON'T EVEN HAVE AN ACCOUNT WITH THEM
Should I report this and who to?
Thanx, Colleen

I get these every day from different organisations and delete them unopened.
You can report them, but I cannot be bothered to look out the addresses to do it to be honest.
Barbara and the Grey Curly Tails.

It get loads too, Abby National, Natwest, Lloyds etc
I would Stress to everyone, NEVER Open the email or Click on the link, as nearly always they are scams and could infact put a virus on you Computer when you have a look.
We have several anti virus software etc on our home computer and an alert will come up on the screen to tell us that the website is a scam fraud website.
Loving you Mika, my boy 12/04/99 - 17/05/07 xx
Will never forget you my darling boy xx
If it is a hotmail account there is a button near the top of the page that says 'report phising scam', whenever I get one I log in with them, don't know if they do anything or not though!
1 more day at work, 1 more day at work!!!
> could infact put a virus on you Computer when you have a look
Whoops better run my virus scan although hopefully it should have picked anything up automatically !!
I think in future, I'll just delete it...must admit I was curious as to what they wanted, its the first one i've had, normally get the usual junk but not one like this!!!
Thanx all

we had one and rang Nationwide. they asked us to send the e-mail to them as they take this very seriously and DO investigate them.
just dont reply to it or follow any instructions.
I've seen them from other banks too, I don't do any on-line banking so I delete them, my husband just uses one bank on-line, so any mail addressed to him from other banks gets deleted too. Even mail from Ebay, I tend to ignore the e-mails and conduct all business on their site, I don't believe you can be too careful, and I try never to follow links on e-mails unless verified.
The only time I did, and I thought I had been done, was when I got an e-mail for the Led Zeppelin concert in December - I was that excited I just went ahead and booked 2 tickets, and paid for them etc.....took ages to sink in that I WAS actually going!!!
I've lost count of the friendly girls who just want to talk to someone and have fun, the offers of pharmacy drugs, the diplomas I can be awarded and Rolex watches at bargain prices.... yawn ....
....the most perfect creature of Heaven....

LOL I deleted it, saw your post , restored it and sent it to them

thanx and no, I didn't reply to them

I had some chinese guy send emails about his computer stuff/bargain laptops/software thats available from his ebay store VIA MY HOTMAIL ACCOUNT!! And its not even the account thats linked to my ebay account. It was my dog account that I use for all my K.C/enquiries/dog mates etc.
I had various people emailing me
very confused!
First I knew about it was an email from a breeder friend. I was very disturbed and worried that someone could somehow access my account like that. Ive changed my password now but they must've hacked it some other way in the first place, being as the account is completely seperate from the one linked to my ebay account.
Very worrying!
