My car insurance with diamond is up for renewal (£552!) and i have found a cheaper quote via confused.com with elephant.co.uk. (£433) I don't know much about them but the policy looks very similar to my previous one. Has anyone had any experiences with them?

Ive been with elephant for several years. Very good. Not had an accident (touch wood) so cant comment on that side of things but were very good when i wanted to add and remove drivers and offer very cheap prices for that sort of thing. The little things like getting an answer when you ring, English people on the phone, and they sort things out immediately impress me. I'd recommend them.

I used gocompare.com for my last insurance quote and ended up with Sheilas Wheels nearly 50% cheaper and comparable to my previous insurer.

I went with the Post Office this year and they have had a £50 cashback deal running.   The quote was for £135 fully comp minus £50 cashback after 60 days = £85 for a year's  insurance.  Beat that!!!!!  ;-)

there is a set order to search all the comparison sites that is supposed to get you the cheapest quote (according to martin lewis the money saving expert)  I haven't tried it yet as my insurance isn't due yet, but will do.

I'm with Elephant, no experience of claiming from them but both Diamond and Elephant are part of Admiral which is why the policies will look similar (but not the prices for some strange reason).

It all depends what your situation is/what car you drive/where you live etc, so we'll all get different quotes which are relevant to us. What one company quotes well for me might not be good to someone else
