Only on a temporary contract covering maternity at work. Wages arent great but took the job because i thought the experiance would do me good and would be more benefitial in the long run. To cut  a long story short i started at quite a low wage and found out today i should have been paid the same as the women who i'm covering.
basically i'll be getting about £2,000 rebate, although i will only see £1000 due to the pro-rata stuff (i dont really undserstand) but still - £1000!!! This is the closest i've been to winning the lottery. Never won thing in my life and this came as such a happy surprise i am over the moon and had to share it!!!!!!!
Now....what to buy??!!!:-)
The more i experience men, the more i appreciate dogs.

wow thats a lovely surprise! Oooh what to spend it on... some clothes maybe - you could go shopping with some mates and to a restaurant afterwards, or go for a holiday somewhere exotic or o for a weekend to a luxury spa and buy  the products they use....:-) (or put it in the bank as my grandad would say lol)
:-) Eager to learn ( and help if I can) :-)

That's lovely news to get!  Can I put my sensible hat on?!!  Spend half on something you really want and put the other half away for a rainy day.

In Response to belgian bonkers

Ditto.  My philosophy where money is concerned, is pay what needs paying and from what's left spend half on what you want and save the other half.

In this way even saving only £10 a week you can long term build up a fund for those unforeseen things, like boiler breakdowns, appliance replacements etc.
