Had my bitch scanned today as has a discharge no smell but quite a lot of it . she was mated 31 days ago vet said at first she thought it was pyo even though she has no temperature or not drinking excessive and playful as usual when scanned she thought she could see something suspecially like a puppy so she was talking about injection to contract uterus but changed her mind on seeing this and put her on synulox instead and to rescan in a week 2 questions ive been told synulox thins membranes around puppys any opinions on this as vet said medication absolutely fine she also said discharge could be her reabsorbing but surely at this stage you would not see anything maybe im wrong i just thought it was vaginitus

Synulox is absolutely safe in pregnancy, one of my girls bled from the start of her season until she whelped, she was put on synulox at 3 weeks post mating and came off them a week after the litter was born, she had 7 very healthy pups.

Is it just the 'normal' discharge that pregnent bitches get around this time which then continues througout pregnancy? The book of the bitch mentions it and is normally a good sign that the bitch is in whelp. Clear non smelling discharge.
If she has no temp and is well i would hold off anti b's unless it looks suspicious.
