Iv just had a phone call from a friend, her dog has had a nose bleed, is it ok for them to have nose bleeds or does she need to get her to the vets?

unless there is a visible reason for this ie a cut i would suggest a visit to the vet as epistaxis in dogs and horses can be a sign of other problems.

She has a little scratch by her nose but the blood definatly come from inside, i will tell her just to pop to the vets, better to be safe then sorry.

I would definitely get the dog checked out by the vets. Years ago I had a Dobe that had aspergillosis (sp?) and the first sign was nose bleeds.

my pup got a nose bleed after he ran full smack into my mums GSDs side, it stopped after about 15 minutes, so it depends on the circumstances. it can often mean somethings stuck up the nose, a grass seed is common, or can be more sinister (tumours, fungal diseases etc)
hope shes ok

I had a pup that was born with a nose bleed. She was fine and went on to get a JW and a CC at 11 months.
