Firstly thank you to all of you you have been a tremendous help, secondly KAREN1 i am disgusted at your comment, i also used to have your opinion about it being the owners fault, which i cannot excuse for all the bad things that happen because i am sure in some cases this to be true, but you really have got it wrong in my case darling and i am fuming! Thank you to all of you who have completly disagreed with KAREN1 thanks for the support, and as a dog lover i am saddenned to be judged, i am also happy to report tht Buster has spent some time with the said family, this last weekend, and he got on great with them, they have been told of all his behaviours and they feel up for the challenge, my vet karen has also been involved with this rehoming, and if in anyway it doesnt work out then he will sadly be pts, there is a great weight lifted off all our shoulders, we feel we have now done the best, we cannot do anymre, if it does not work out i will be binging him home to yorkshire to have him pts, they will be keeping us informed of his progress, we can only hope his works, because he can be a loving dog, but as you all know very unpredictable, there are now no children in his new home and no other dogs, karen our vet suggested castration also, so that will be done, so i wish him luck as we all do. But i now face more problems with another dog we have rescued! but i shall post a new thread on this one and it will shock you all.

I hope that it works out with him and his new family.  I have had this problem before with a mentally unstable dog that I was fostering.  He ended up being PTS as he was unsuitable to be rehomed with anyone else.

Very, very, pleased at the outcome with Buster, you have to just give him the chance, he may well be in capable hands able to control the situation, (or not) but there is no way anyone should ever try to change the mindset of a powerful breed with children on the premesis, it takes time and effort and even then may still not work, children can not be there as potential victims. You have absolutely done the right thing.

I know your vet is involved, but if Buster can not be helped, I think it best for the owners there to take him to their vet to be pts, I know it would break my heart to have to collect him and take him myself. It is up to you, but I know it would really upset me, especially as you have thrown him a potential life line, to then be the one to take it back, would be very hard, for me at least.

Thank you for the update, I know many of us will be very happy, I have my fingers crossed for Buster too, let us know how everything goes there.  There is always hope.

Thanks for the update. I think you can now rest easy, knowing that if this new home for Buster doesn't work out you have done everything you could - and more - for him. If only all owners were so responsible.

i wish buster all the best for his future hopefully he can be turned around it will take time but if this couple are aware of everything and still want to try then its worth a go.

and for your family i hope you can all get over this and be happy knowing you kids are safe.
