I have to say that this BB is the first that has made me laugh out loud.  The task with the electric shocks had me in stitches and last night's highlights show when Big Bro called Mario into the diary while he was fumbling under the covers with Lisa.  So, so funny :D

Repeatedly breaking BB rules on behaviour despite being warned twice and intimidating remarks!!!

c4 statement:

The statement, released by Big Brother states that: "Alex was in discussion with Darnell in the living room shortly after 10.15pm yesterday evening (17th June), with a number of other housemates in proximity."

"Discussing her nomination for this week's eviction, Alex was heard to make apparently intimidatory comments about her intentions on leaving the house. Shortly afterwards, Dennis, Rebecca and Rex discussed her comments in the garden and were clear that they found her behaviour to be threatening, a view that Rex repeated subsequently during a diary room discussion with Big Brother."

Previous to her ejection, Alex had been called to the Diary Room twice to be reminded of her breach of Big Brother rules and how her threatening behaviour towards other housemates is a cause for concern.

The statement goes on to say: "Her latest remarks were not screened via the 'as live' streaming on E4 but were reported up to senior production staff. The decision was taken to remove Alex from the house on the grounds that she had repeatedly broken the programme's rules governing housemates' behaviour, despite twice being reminded of her responsibilities."

Angela Jain, Head of E4 and Big Brother at Channel 4, said: "Alex's comments will be widely interpreted as having been intended to intimidate. Other housemates have said they found her comments to be threatening and we believe that is a reasonable conclusion for them to have reached given the way Alex has behaved previously."

"Big Brother has very clear rules about housemates' conduct and that kind of behaviour is not acceptable. She had already been spoken to twice about her behaviour and, like all housemates, was clearly informed before entering the house that she faced eviction if she acted in an unacceptable manner."

Housemates have not yet been informed about Alex's depature. It is expected an announcement will made through a laminate in due course.

I am shocked that BB has put people like this in the house.  It is supposed to be fun and although we know that it's the extreme personalities that make it entertaining there has to be a line.  Alexandra (too nice a name for such a witch) already has a reputation for being an aggressive bully but the other housemates won't know that.  IMO it was very wrong to put her in with people who have no idea what they are up against now and apparently later.  I hope they keep an eye on her.

Also, I wonder what the black population think of the people in the house this year?  I mean, for goodness sake, isn't it playing up to stereotype?  If I was black I would have the right hump in light of the fact that Charlie was a full on bully last year.

Thank goodness they have Mo to balance things up a bit.  However, it's the really negative stuff that people will remember.

I think Mohamed is great. How he kept his temper with the rubbish she spewed out at him I do not know and he was obviously very upset by it but saved it all for the diary room.  So I would say he is a good counter for the negative impression BB has been giving to black people.

I agree.  If you read Cheryl posts also you will see why we thought C4 might be giving this impression but you are right it might just be a coincidence.

I think that C4 carefully select their housemates and know full well the type of people they are.  A black colleague was jumping up and down the other day about a black guy who was playing up to the 'black gangster' stereotype.  She said it was these type of people who perpetuate the negative image of black people.  That the housemates are selected carefully and not randomly suggests to me that C4 knew what this person was like before she went in and shouldn't have given her the opportunity to gain celebrity status.

I agree that anyone who behaves badly should take responsibility for their actions but also that C4 should take responsibility for potentially rewarding such a nasty person whoever they are (colour or creed).

Well that was how I understood it.  There are plenty of witty, funny, quirky and interesting people in this world, of all colours, that might be willing to entertain us in there.  Even if is just a coincidence that we have had the "gangsta" type twice in a row perhaps it would have been better if C4 had made a deliberate effect to avoid the scrag end of the black community if only because we have been there, done that .

For an interesting piece of info ...The UK population has 17% non whites ..therefore, in order to be representative of the UK population, there should be 1 maybe 2 non white folks in this BB house of 16 people...there are always more than that If you get a group of 16 random people in a room, how often would you find an albino american or a blind Scot.....?

They are definitely chosen to entertain ...but whether they behave BADLY or not is their choice

I have seen audition tapes of people from previous BB's where they say ' put me in and I will be WIIIILLLLD ...and they have been put in and been boring :D ...individual choice
