Well. It's now day 5 of Thornit use. The ear isn't squealching any more, there's no black wax and no smell. HURRAH. And the TH doesn't mind it being done (ear cleaning used to involve pinning her in a corner and not minding getting as much on me as on her).

So thanks a lot to all those who recommended it. I've followed your lead and recommended it to someone at work with a labrador with a manky ear.

TH says Ta too.

Glad to hear your dog is getting better, its a good advert for thornit, i've not used this product, but will certainly keep the details of it handy as some products you get just do not work.

Irene

It certainly worked for Loki.

Oh dear. Has the Bear got a smelly ear too? I think I'll use the Thornit to clean her ears once a week instead of the stuff the vet recommended. Debs was right, it is the ear she sleeps on and she sleeps a lot.

She's been out with the other syndicate dogs the past three Saturdays. She had a whale of a time and soon resorted the pack order. Give you three guesses who's top dog now?

LOL ... noooooooo Kate. His ears are fine.I keep on top of them with the baby wipes. But it is always handy to have a 'back-up' in place just in case. :-)

Have you cured her of fence jumping yet ?
By 9thM [gb] Date 23.07.01 12:28 GMT
I kept on top of TH's ears too, but the stuff from the vet was obviously rubbish. The fence jumping is almost there, caught the "ping" as she considered it the other day, but I just yelled "No". And she turned with that "Who me? I was only looking" look on her face. But could I persuade her to jump over a fence half the height on the syndicate land on Saturday? Could I?

LOL ..... sounds about right ! Don't worry , they all get the hang of which fences they can and can not jump eventually. Having said that , I never ever managed to convince Merl' that 5 bar gates were not put there solely for his amusement, whether he was working or not  lol

Guess what. Looked at the other ear this morning and there are little bits of black wax and a slight whiff. So now the little angel will have to have that ear done as well.

Anyone want to buy a slightly used clumber spaniel, one careful lady owner?

1st dose Thornit - I received my Thornit today and have given one dose so far. My lab has had all sorts of different drops which clear her ears for a week or two, before she starts scratching again. I have been cleaning her ears with Calendula Oil which has helped but has not cured the problem. Hope the Thornit works wonders - it comes highly recommended.

Let us know how it goes. The TH's ears have been fine since I've been using it. Fingers crossed.
