my old dog harry who was a great dane cross blood hound had to be to sleep at the age of 12. in just over a week he lost all his wieght could hardly move and the vet said he must have been in great pain, yet he never maoned. i took him to the vet thinking it was just a touch of arthritis but it turned out he had a mass in his kidney and i was advised he would only live another week or so in great pain. i decided it was time to end his suffering and i hekd his head kissing him and telling jhim i loved him , he looked up with his sad eyes and gave me one last kiss and he was gone, i miss so much i just cannot stop crying. he came to us from a family who had two dogs they had got him froma rehoming place but when their baby came along they relaised two dogs were to much so harry had to be rehomed, we were the lucky ones we got him. and loved him till te very end. my other dogs seem to know he has gone as they are mopping about. i just wanted to mention my beloved harry to you all

Hilary, just want to say how sorry I am for you. You did the best and last loving thing you could do for him. He is pain free now. Thinking of you

thank you all for your wonderful words, i hope is is running free in rainbow bridge he derserved it, i never experienced such heartache not even when my parents died, everyone who knew him loved him the kids on our housing estate called him scooby -doo because he looked just like him
