I'd like advice on this as well, Ann ! It seems you can buy the capsules in various strengths. I've just bought a tub containing 365 for £6 which I thought was quite a bargain ! I would imagine that different size dogs need different dosages. There has been discussion on this before on here, so perhaps we should see if there's any mention of how much to give. I'd like to know if it can be given to young dogs as well as older ones. Joyce
Have you tried entering the word 'Glucosamine' in the 'search' facility at the top of the forum page? There are quite a few threads on the subject, including the following:
I've read the various threads re: dosage, but can't figure out the correct amount for a small dog weighing approx 8kg. Also I should imagine it's difficult to split a capsule and most companies seem to supply them from about 600mg per capsule. Would one a day of this strength be too much? If so, does anyone know where I could buy lower strength ones? Many thanks Michele
Perhaps you could look for a vet that specializes in homeopathic remedies or even a regular specialist who could give you dosage levels? A phone call might do the job If doggy vets don't know, try Equine... they started using Gl. long before everyone else :D good luck, toodles
