> Now I feel like the under privileged poor relation :-p

Wot!? with yer posh furry footwear? Only the very privileged can do the mud waltz in their ermine booties. :-p

If only they were ermine, sigh (how many little ermines would be sacrficed in the making however :-D )

I'd so luuuuuurv the muckluck ones - they are VERY pretty, but VERY expensive and can imagine MadAss feasting on them when I was pitter pattering around trying to keep them dry LOL (and all the little luckas that went into making them :-(  I'm a poor relation with a con-shunce :-p )

I'm with you there - I can rest easy knowing no neoprenes were harmed for the sake of my comfort. :-D

Long live the neoprenes - let's help spread their national habitat, methinks they're not native to Scotland or at least an endangered species round these parts :-p  I can OH we're doing the species a service if I stock up :-D

Tell him they're from doon souf in Geordieland. They came from the mines - that's why they're so good in cold and wet conditions. We have small populations living wild and occasionally one will pop up in your garden (a sure sign your house is in danger of sinking into an old pit hole). Valuable creature they be - you should come down here and go neoprene trapping with us so you can start your own herd.

A Done Deal (any herds of jummy choos in that neighbourhood? Daughter suddenly developed increased interest in conservation :-D )

Aye, Bigg Market on a Friday night. They travel in packs mostly on the feet of their pet hens. The hens are easily overpowered after midnight as they've usually consumed far too much fermented grain by then. A cutout of David Beckham and a net is all that's needed.

Teri, do you think we've gone a little off topic now...
think anyone will notice or have they all learned to ignore us ;-)...

It's no wonder I am now totally confused as to which boots to buy. Am thinking of tarring and gritting my feet instead :-)
By Teri (*****) [gb] Date 24.11.08 19:13 GMT
LOL Lizzie - if I hadn't committed the cash already I'd be in a right old tizzy too :-D

BUT, there's hope, even though our cash rich friend (who shall remain nameless but there's a clue - think of someone 'up there' with a neoprene fettish eek ) has been ever so helpful, those of us less endowed (in many ways :-D ) can safely recommend the super dry, cumfy cosy, robustly constructed, faux fur trimmed, fleece lined and eco-nomical CUTESY BOOT but - and it's a big BUT :-( it appears to be only available for BIG feet right now (too many recommendations!) :-( so perhaps try (and I'd encourage haste :-D ) the equally (ok, almost) eco-nomical although admittedly less cute YARD BOOT

All clear now hun (yeah, I'll bet :-p )  Not as warm as tarring your tootsies but definitely softer than GRIT!!!!

Neoprene fettish.... well endowed.... Teri, you told me you weren't going to make it to Scottish Gundogs. You've been peeking eek

I thought my £46 boot option was in the reasonable if not bargain range of foot joy. Cheaper than some of the posh wellies mentioned. I paid £14 for the Cotton Trader yard type boots I wore last year and they only lasted around 7 months and I didn't wear them everyday. If these last me years I call that wise shopping. Can you hear my purse squeaking from up there???

Posh wellies confused  who'sgotthemthen ? eek now I want posh wellies AND the neopreenmyselfalldaylongwhilenobodyswatching boots mad Point me to them, reveal, I insist aaaarrrgggghh (just as I thought my xmas list(s) were almost done and dusted - too cruel, just too cruel :-( )

OK, got that off my (ample-ish) chest - 46 quid Lori - bargainous eek  Running out of feet to wear them but if I keep on running some of the weight may fall of my calves and I'll get into those Lady Ns we discussed ............ every cloud, as they say cool

Scottish Gundogs - did you not notice the steward with the false beard, glasses and plus fours hen???

I got my eco-nomical Yard boot from Hyper Drug the pet chemist £24.99 plus postage as Robinsons didn't have my size any more.

I'm normally a 6.5 and went up to size 7, it is a snug fit. Although I've got a sore spot on my ankle of the foot that is one size smaller than the other.
However other than that quite comfortable and kept my feet nice and warm in the cold snap.

It was so nice actually having 'traction control' on pavements rather than sliding around when the girls pulled.
Plus having velcro no more laces that undo several times on a walk - bliss.

Did notice that lots of people at dog show were wearing muckers or that type of footware now
whereas previously I hadn't noticed the footware.

Posh pricing Mrs C eek you're not really one us eek  masquerading as a scot but spending that kind of cash on wellies (gotta admire your clout hun :-p - any chance of passing your words of wisdom on how to wheekle similar from my OH - pretty pleeeeease :-D )

Very posh for me and the belgian lover eek Where I walk the yard boots aren't tall enough. Everybody sing now "Oh I love to walk in swamps, walk in swamps..."

Teri, think Kay has something there. If your OH is like mine he won't know if they're new or not ;-)

Oooh Kay, just made the mistake of clicking on the jumper. Want it, want it! I may just pull out the knitting needles though. nah better to buy, support people in work and all :-)

We gonna be in soooooo much trouble :-p

Yes, well my account will go more ker-chunk than ker-ching at the moment so I may just be saving up the dog hair to make a golden jumper :-D

Sitting in my PJs with me cute boots on (ooh, that could be a song - inspired!  Ways to make money needed coz too many ways to spend the stuff already VERY available :-p )

This time next year we could be millionaires (in the words of the master)

Lori - ive just looked at the website and there are loads to chose from, which ones do you have ? Im looking in the under £50 bracket.  Im fed up with my hunters wearing out after 6 months and they have no grip on them (and with a bit of a baby bump now I need even more help to keep upright !!) Where I walk is usually muddy and when the mud slides away its really chalky and slippery, when we have rain the puddles are really deep - nice places I walk ;-)  Are those wellies waterproof all the way up ? (or is that a stupid question ?)
27.5lb off so far just half a lb for 2 stone :o)
By Lori (*****) [gb] Date 25.11.08 11:53 GMT
I have the Derwents, just under 50 quid. They are waterproof all the way up. I walk in places like you - sometimes the water is several inches deep and you sink in the mud. The neoprene in the boot and leg are very insulative so you don't feel the cold water either (just had this discussion this morning as my walking buddy has Hunters)

another one sucked into the wellie hole Teri!

Thanks Lori, they were the ones I was looking at.  I find my hunters quite comfy but the grip on them is quite worrying - baby hangs onto its umbillical cord for dear life when I go walking !
