To my darling Phoebe - who I lost last week (PTS following a brave fight with a brain tumour)

I had you for 10 great years; I will always remember you 'for being there unconditionaly for me'; you was in my life - now gone; but you will forever be in my heart.

I'm soo soo sorry I couldn't do anymore for you, I loved you more than I ever thought possible.

Thank you Brac; I am sorry to hear of your loss too.

One bit of comfort is that I had her buried in my garden, I am able to go and chat to her whenever I like (which is a lot of the time)

Strange as it may seem to non doggie people Phoebe was my rock, like I said previously she was always there for me - now she's gone and it's so hard

Thank you for your kind words she was indeed special and so brave.

Hi Boxingphoebe
I totally understand what you are saying as sophie was my rock
and i miss her so very much she passed away 4 days after my sister passed away so double heartache for us .
we are just teking 1 day at a time some days are good some are bad but you just have to carry on as hard as it is.
Sophie was not even ill and she was only 8 she had her breakfast and we just found her dead at lunch time such a shock we also have her buried in our garden along with her mother and grandmother so i can spend time with them .
we have lost 6 dogs in the last 2 years not all of them were old but i have such fond memories of them all and that is what keeps me going i have found this lovely poem which you might enjoy but get the tissues out first.

A letter from your pet in heaven
Author Unknown

To my dearest family,
some things I'd like to say.
But first of all, to let you know,
that I arrived okay.

I'm writing this from the Bridge.
Here I dwell with God above.
Here there's no more tears of sadness.
Here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy
just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I am with you
every morning, noon and night.

That day I had to leave you
when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me
and He said, "I welcome you.

It's good to have you back again,
you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family,
They'll be here later on."

God gave me a list of things,
that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list,
was to watch and care for you.

And when you lie in bed at night
the day's chores put to flight,
God and I are closest to you...

in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth,
and all those loving years,
because you are only human,
they are bound to bring you tears.

But do not be afraid to cry:
it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers,
unless there were some rain.

I wish that I could tell you
all that God has planned.
If I were to tell you,
you wouldn't understand.

But one thing is for certain,
though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now,
than I ever was before.

There are rocky roads ahead of you
and many hills to climb;
But together we can do it
by taking one day at a time.

It was always my philosophy
and I'd like it for you too;
That as you give unto the world,
the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody
who's in sorrow and pain;
Then you can say to God at night...
"My day was not in vain."

And now I am contented...
that my life was worthwhile.
Knowing as I passed along
I made somebody smile.

God says: "If you meet somebody
who is sad and feeling low;
Just lend a hand to pick him up,
as on your way you go.

When you're walking down the street
with me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps
only half a step behind."

"And when it's time for you to go...
from that body to be free.

Remember you're not going...
you're coming here to me."
I've learned...that life is like a roll of toilet paper.
The closer it gets to the end, the faster

What a beautiful poem; especially this verse

But do not be afraid to cry:
it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers,
unless there were some rain.

Thank you so much

im so sorry, i hope when you retrieve your puppy back that it helps to occupy you.  xxxx

Thank you; I see the pup coming back as a sign from Phoebe, she knew her grandson was unhappy and her daughter is in mourning so is sending him back to us as a gift to lessen the pain.  As for me my heart will always be broken and I just can't see it getting easier when I think of her.
