Well we had a great day and you were all right everyone is helpful :D

Phoe got a 1st in Golden Retriever Puppy and Best Puppy in Breed guess how many in class

We decided to stay in the other classes we had entered rather than withdraw and go for BPIS as we need experience and same Judge for all my classes and BPIS anyway and got :

3rd in AV Gundog Puppy
3rd in AV Minor Puppy

She was really good and calm, I was calm, we had a nice place under a tree in the shade with a cooling breeze, she loved all the attention and wiggle bummed at the Judge and we both enjoyed it :D

Sara and Phoebie who is the proud owner now of 5 rosettes in total because of the photo comp ! She also got a bag of puppy food too

roflol :D it was a GREAT big door Mattie !!!!

She was a little angel - not at all phased by the crowds as it was a big crafts and agricultural show etc.
She took it all in her stride - had a nap on the rug when tired despite all the noise and snuggled up to anyone who wanted to meet her

The pep talk from you and Christine2 last night did me wonders ! No need for rescue remedy lol

Melody was there at 10 as promised. I had already found Phoes breeder and some others from ringcraft though so felt a bit bad - think she's forgiven me though Coz they came early for my sake Hudson had quite a wait for his classes and was fed up so apologies to him

Phoebe was a little star and deserved her places

Hudson was a big git and got 4th in AVNSC puppy - having said which , we were there from 10am and he was bored and hot (so were we :D )

I am looking forward to the next show actually. I was edgy but in the first class the Judge was nice and clear with his instructions as to what I had to do as we went first ( and middle and last lol as the one other entry didn't turn up !!!) He asked her age and when I said 6 months and 1 week he asked if first show so I took the opportunity to mention it was mine as well hence his extra clear instructions to me :D
He was doing his critiques on a dictaphone so will be interesting to see what he had to say about her (providing it gets published) Hard to tell what he really thought of her when no-one to compare with in her breed class lol

Well done, Sara and Phoebie, Melody and Hudson, and Fiona and Holly, if she's over the nervous exhaustion. Is there just Mari and Berry left to hear from after that? Were there a few mals going in their first shows?

Well done Sara :D We got 3rd in the Cocker Puppy, lovely yellow rosette but decided not to enter the AV minor puppy class after all.

Holly was very hot and bothered and the AV class was in the hall - which was very noisy and terrified Holly We decided not to enter Holly and to leave the day on a good note

Provided her coat comes in properly and I can strip her out in the next 3wks we'll be going to Bournemouth, I won't taker her if her coats not through though - she looked very scruffy next to the others in her class.

Considering the nerves of yesterday and the nearly not going you did great You were right to not push it with the hall. If I'd felt at any stage Phoe was not happy I'd have pulled out but all ours were outside.
In the AV gundog puppy it was an English and an American cocker who came above us and in the AV minor the same American and something else (smooth collie ???) Got to admit the baby cockers were lovely - if they didn't need so much doing with their coats I could be tempted to have one Fi !!

So I presume as you're talking about Bournemouth still you quite enjoyed the day afterall ?

Not being in Cockers Fi I can't say but it may be that the judge will make allowance for her being in puppy coat after all there is a lot more to Holly than her coat. But if you do deside not to go because she seems to be behind other pups don't worry very often the later maturing pups are better in the long run and remain at their best longer. Ja:)kie

Well done to both Phoe and Sara ( who is now a fully fledged member of the nutcase brigade who get up at 4am then think what other idiot would get up at this time, drive hundreds of miles just to pursue a hobby and then do it again the next weekend and the next weekend, etc.etc).

Emma - if you weren't tipsy and read all the posts you'd see there was just her in the GR class That was one of the reasons I stayed in my other classes as a class of one hadn't taught us much about what goes on lol

The judge was Mr P Kempson - Chadsmoor who I'm told is a Goldie breeder but not sure ? Do you know of him ?

Well if she din't deserve her first then the judge could have with-held {and I have seen judges do this with just one in a class}the first so she deserved it!!!!!
I havn't heard of the judge I am affraid.
Bliss has only got one open show first and that was in puppy bitch and when it came to the challenge for best puppy I knew she was more his type than the puppy dog winner{only 2 in that class} so I was getting exchited!!
BUT I didn't realise that there was a puppy bitch placed in the junior bitch class,why she wasn't in puppy I do not know as he had no other dogs that day! and she got best puppy!!!!!

Pup in Junior, an almost sure way to get into the puppy challenge as even if you are chucked out your still an unbeaten puppy. Ja:)kie
