Sadly I had to say goodbye to Lydia last night after 15 wonderful years.  She developed stomach cancer 2 weeks ago and I wanted to let her go before she really started suffering.

She'll be at rainbow bridge now with her mum Dilita and dad Relampago.

End of an era as she was from the first litter of Spanish to be born and bred in this country.

So hard to say goodbye to our beloved oldies!   As you say - she is the end of an era - but what a wonderful era it was for you!

What a good age, but it makes you feel as if they'll be there for ever, doesn't it? So sorry for your loss.

Oh Diane!
((Warmest hugs))
Lydia is most definately one of those dogs in the 'CD Hall of Fame' in my head. A wonderful Doyenne and Ambassador of her breed (and verrrrry much responsible (her and her proginy) for my new found utter adoration of the SWD :-) )
Like others have stated, I have followed your stories of Lydia and know that your experiences with her have even gone on to benefit many others as you give advice.
She leaves an amazing legacy..but I know she leaves a huge hole in your heart xx
Run free Lydia.
Thoughts and hugs go with you at this time Diane x

Diane, I am very sorry to hear your news - from your postings, Lydia sounded like a wonderful girl and an ambassador for the SWD breed (which I have decided is totally gorgeous after seeing one at a champ show!)

Enjoy the bridge Lydia with Dilita and Relampago - rest in peace.

Can't believe that it's nearly a year since I lost Lydia.  Thinking a lot about her lately and hoping that her great grand-daughter has a lookalike with a nice short tail !

Miss you so much Lydia and Dilita.
