I had to say goodbye to my beautiful Oscar today. He was given sleep as he had a tumour appear on his scapula last week making it very difficult for him to walk. He was my first show boy and he did us very proud over the years. His memory lives on in his daughter and grandaughter here and our fond memories of a stubborn comic that he was. He was also my first forray into gundog work, what a lot we learnt together. Thank you my big bear for 12 and half wonderful years with you. Your best mate Rem will be waiting for you.

I am so, so sorry. By sheer coincidence my 12 year old dog has a tumour in much the same location so I can see the problem -the outcome will eventually be the same.

He went down hill very quickly and although still happy at the end I was glad that he was given sleep whilst relatively pain free and still had his dignity. Thank you all for your kind words and I will be thinking of your boy Marianne x

Oscar had the best life ever, you were a perfect Mum to him, and I am sure Oscar will be running free at the bridge now, in no pain and looking down thanking his Mum for his wonderful life.

So sorry for your loss of Oscar. It is very hard losing the old gents especially when they have been the comic/character of the pack.
