We have a 13 week old minature poople bitch who is a delight - she has been clean every night since she arrive whilst in her crate (which we have never used before - our existing 13 year old border collie cross was a whole different kettle of fish!) and for the 2-3 hours she has been in her crate in the mornings whilst I am at work - that is until the last two days when she has wet.
Nothing has changed diet etc - only the weather, which means she has been in and out the back door all the time with no accidents indoors at all (she has only had the occaisional wee accident since she arrived aged 8 weeks) - any ideas? Has she decided that it is time she was out of the crate in the day time?
On a seperate note when do you decide to stop using the crate at night?
Hmmm - it's never easy to work out why things are fine one minute and then suddenly the dog does something else!!
If you have access to a video recorder you could set it uup on the crate and it may give you a clue; could even be something like a noise which is upsetting her. I believe that sometimes as pups grow they can have relapses too, although I think this often when they are at a more "teenage" stage of development.
You say nothing has changed but double check and see things from the pups point of view; for example is she starting to spend all the time yu are at home with you, and has bonded, and now is not keen on you leaving? Some dogs who wet in their crate do it almost as soon as the owner goes, not after anhour or so.
Could you leave the house as normal but go back say 20 minutes later? Or even 10? Then you would know when she wets and if it is immediately I would start looking at anxiety as the problem.
Hope some of these ideas help anyway
(she sounds lovely)
