Has she tried the Breed Club. She could also look on the KC site for a Breed Club member with a litter.

have advised her to do that as well.

my friend has found an older puppy she is getting her from the switherland kennel

That is a show kennel think the name is Freer but I have know knowledge of their breeding practices not the health of their stock, sorry she is on her own to go to the kennels and see what she thinks. Tell her to ask about health tests and check the paperwork, would think the puppy has been kept to see how he progressed for the show ring and they have decided it is not of top show quality.

yes she was kept back for showing but like you say has not made the team(what she was told) not a problem to them as she is a little older (9 months) so just right to play with there other dog, she will be a well loved and spoilt family pet.

She should be aware that she may have been kept in kennels all her short live and will need to be house trained apart from that she should fit the bill as she will have had some basic training one would have thought.

That is fine as long as she knows, an older puppy does a lot more pee than a young pup and it can come as a shock. should not take long to train though as it will have been given ringcraft training one would think.
