A close friend is looking for a working bred collie pup.  They have pwned several collies, their last was shot by a farmer 5 years ago, they are only just now ready for another.  If anyone knows of any coming up please let me know.  It will be going to a very good home, they have severl acres of land surrounded by farm land, they are retired so pleanty of time for a dog

I would too Claire, there are lots of breeders however who wouldn't bother just to get a sale-this includes lots of farmers/shepherds/triallists.(BTW the OP wrote Working Bred Collie not WSD )

When you mention a working bred collie-what sort of working ? Obedience, Working Trials, Agility, Flyball or stock ?

Or do you mean working as opposed to Show Border Collies ? or a KC type WSD as opposed to a BC ?

Would you friend be interested in a puppy from a rescue?  There is a litter of working boder collies on the many tears rescue website.

Wicceways Border Collie rescue has some as well 5 I think.

They will need to be up front & explain how the last one ended up being shot by a farmer !
