Hi, i have a vile prob with my new puppies, they have fleas!, the bitch and all the other pets i have were frontlined a fortnight ago!.I went to the vet yesterday and he tells me that i cant use any more flea stuff for atleast 3 weeks as they are up to date.I asked him if i could flea the pups and he said i could as long as the mum didnt lick them!. Hello, how am i suppose to stop her doing that?. The pups are 1 week old!. Any help would be great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The only solution I can give you Kerrie is to fine comb all the fleas off the puppies in the garden the same to mom if you can .I would then give the mom garlic capsules for a few days . That should help Kerrie as the garlic will go through the mothers milk and help the infestation in the pups without harming them .
Clean the whelping box with tea tree disinfectant and do this as often as you can untill all are old enough to get flea treatment.
I do not like to bath puppies but if you have no success then you could use the liquid treatment for children and keep the mother away for two hours then wash it off with a treatment shampoo. .Make sure you dry the puppies well and keep them out of all draughts . .I am not telling you to do this Kerrie just letting you know the way some people I know dealt with the problem. Mari.

Thanks everybody, in the end i went against the vet and used the spot on treatment and fingers crossed its worked with no ill effects.I think that i couldnt have drenched the animals enough last week, so they wouldnt have overdosed on it anyway. Fingers crossed
