Can you believe its 2 years now since Robert had the sad task of informing us, the forum had lost a much cherished friend but Heaven had gained a bright, bright star (12/02/2007)....

Only the November prior we'd all been celebrating, in true Libs 'bounce back' style she'd posted to say she was back home after having been in a drug induced coma 2 weeks prior and how glad she was to see us all... There was just no keeping a good girl down!! ;-)
which made the news in February seem just so...... unfair.

Alison ('Liberty') was one of the first members to extend the hand of (genuine) friendship to me when I was new to this forum, and through many a late night 'Ribena' fueled pm and our old chat room facility conversations we found out, by happy chance, we both worked for BA. (and swapped 'PLD" recipes (Pre Landing Drinks!) ;-) )
    I miss her....................
But sometimes in the wee hours as Im pottering about CD (sweeping up, straightening the chairs.. picking up the buns ;-) ) I come across old posts of Libs which still make me smile and laugh and so I look up skyward and wink and raise my 'ribena' knowingly ;-)

My thoughts go out to Ian and to Alison's family at this time and also to Robert (RobertK) whose touching tribute and poignant memories of Liberty were testament (as are all the hilarious banter posts between he and libs) to what a wonderful friendship which must be much missed.

I know she is going to be up there.... sceaming "Someone shut HG up!!! JG slap her and tell her to stop gushing and get that Ribena opened..it's not going to drink itself"
soooooo *passes the glasses round and pours*

*Raises glass*
"To Liberty!................" :-)

Two years? It still seems like yesterday.

I'm going to have to defy libs and not slap you, because I still miss her so terribly as well. If anyone could choose a sister I'd have chosen her, unhesitatingly. She's one of the few people who, when you meet them for the first time, you feel as if you've known them forever, and you're totally relaxed and friendly. Her passing was a terrible, terrible tragedy and one of the brightest lights left the world. Iwas devastated that circumstances forced me to be absent from her funeral, and I still can't quite bring myself to delete her email address from my contacts list.

*slaps self, then HG, and passes the ribena*

Miss you, my friend.

I too will raise a glass of Ribena to Libs ........she is sadly missed by lots of old friends.    I found a Champdogs Badge a couple of weeks ago - made carefully by Liberty and posted to all of us who requested them, who would be showing at Crufts - would that have been 04? or maybe 05?

Loved and missed - but most certainly not forgotten!

I'll raise a glass to Liberty too. I joined in July 06, just before she was in hospital and I remember thinking how fantastic the community spirit on here was.

I didn't know you Liberty, but the friends you've left behind are testament to the wonderful person you were.

2 years have frighteningly gone by so fast.

Raising a glass to you too Liberty. :-)

Even though I didnt know her, I raise my glass as well.

Sounds like the people who knew her were truely blessed.
This is the last time I will allow you to take a breath from my lungs to fill your own.
By Lori (*****) [gb] Date 11.02.09 21:58 GMT
I like Tigger joined just as she was beginning her battle. I didn't know you personally but would be proud to raise a glass of ribena to a noble and caring soul. To you Libs, hope you're covered in dog hair ;-)

She was one of the few CD members I actually met at Crufts the year she did the badges for everyone.
Thinking of Libs family today.

Raises my glass to a dear friend Libs who always raised a smile.

And whilst we are raising glasses remembering Michelle (Jazzywoo) who sadly lost her life to cancer 2 years ago on the 8th feb.

She was a very dear friend who's bravery and positive attitude to the end was an inspiration to me.

Both of you sorely missed.

Lucy

It was a sad week indeed that week......
2 remarkable women,of which the like you rarely come across.I never heard a 'snippy' word from either, like you say Lucy 'always raised a smile'. Both had time for everyone and patience eternal with new and old members alike, impartial, impervious and lest we forget both.....inspirational.

*Raises glass*

Hope the snow is thick and the sun shining brightly for you and the Rainbow doggies to be playing in.

Memory plays funny tricks - I had it in my head that Liberty died two weeks before Michelle ......it was very sad to lose two such lovely ladies so close together.   Hope you've met up & enjoying the ribena there, gals!
