we are looking for a Westie, but having a few troubles as to where to start? 

any help or advice would be great --

if you pm me my friend is due a litter next week , she has lovely stuff and is a accredited breeder.

Do contact the Westie breed club in your area for recommendations.  And look for pups with blue/black not pink skin.
