Oh how very sad, what a wonderful lad. I remember him at Crufts (05..06??)
  His owner, who he assisted for is a an Ex Serviceman isn't he... was it Navy if I remember right??

RIP Endal 

HEROIC Endal, who was voted 'Dog of the Millennium', has died at the age of 13. Allen and Sandra Parton announced the Labrador's death today (Friday).
Endal was given both a PDSA Gold Award and a Gold Blue Peter badge for his devotion to wheelchair-bound Allen, who was seriously injured while serving in the Gulf War.
Endal became a media favourite after being photographed by a national newspaper helping Allen use a cashpoint machine, a skill he taught himself after being trained by Canine Partners.
The extraordinary story of how Endal came into Allen's life and gave him a reason to live again was told just last night in a Sky Real Lives documentary entitled 'The Dog That Saved Our Marriage', and in the book ENDAL published last month by HarperTrue. Endal made his last public appearance on Saturday at Crufts when he accompanied Allen and Sandra to a book signing, along with his successor EJ.
Allen Parton said: "The world will be a sadder place without Endal. He devoted his life to me and for that I will always be grateful. He was a dog in a million."

Aww how sad, there story was on TV yesterday!

Run free Endal. What a wonderfull dog he was and he will no doubt leave a huge hole in his family. Have just read the book and loved it, he was such a great character and so very devoted to his owner. He did so much for them not only helping Alen but bringing a marrage back on track after an awfull time. A true hero in the canine world. Rest In Peace Endal..you have trully earned your place in the world
